09-16-1989 w/ Clarence Clemons @ Poplar Creek

I personally feel that Garcia never played guitar better post 1986 than in 1989, he was on a roll, playing non stop
I had a crap tape of this for years, Everything rips, I will be buying this...

TLEO can be sampled in the article, its fantastic, the Knockin’ from this show doesn’t get better, Jerry plays everything wonderfully, great singing for a chili dog eating cigarette smoker Interesting read on Clemons relationship with Garcia and Weir. They once had a notion to get a bachelor pad together and Weir says Clemons wanted to play as a member of the Dead, but some band members hated the sax

They hated the sax? Doubtful, Bob, but OK.

'Trane was a founding father. More likely by this late date, 25 years on, it was about sharing the stage, cutting the pie an additional way, ...why bother? They'd won their fan base, the revenue was really flowing with (for once) album sales, and high grossing summer stadium tours. Rock the boat? Nah.

Thanks for the news, stratocaster. Interesting that they're selling 24/88.2 FLACs of a recording that had a DAT master. At least they're only charging a buck more for the extra "resolution."

I've bought all volumes of the GarciaLive shows via download. I always buy the 16/44.1 files. About 1/3 of the time I buy the 16/44.1 downloads from this site, the files end up being 24/88.2 or 24/44.1. I don't think they have much quality control on such things. And of course I don't complain....
